Projects
This page may or may not be up to date at any given time. Even viewing it won’t make the uncertainty of that statement collapse into one or the other truth.
I normally have more than a few projects going at any one time, as I seem to be constantly coming up with new ideas all the time. I have notepads filled with ideas, synopsis and plots waiting to be worked on at some stage. I have literally dozens of stories floating around in my head, waiting to be written. Some days I think I need to clone myself to have the time to write them all.
Projects come and projects go, and some that have been featured on here before are on hiatus for now, with new ones making an appearance.
Pure Escapism
Pure Escapism is the name I badge all my short stories under, a growing collection of short stories – and one ongoing serial – across a range of worlds and genres; fantasy, urban fantasy, sci-fi and eventually more. The main focus is fantasy, and even within that genre there is a wide variety, from mythological how-the-world-began stories, right through to gunpowder fantasy.
Novels/Novellas
I start and abandon so many novels that it is getting beyond a joke. The problem is I am always getting fresh new ideas that drew me away from the current novel I am working on. Hopefully 2011 will be different.
There are currently two in the process of being written.
Dawn of Wolves
The next story in the Commonwealth Chronicles collection, this novella takes place at the start of the Nacatori Wars, between the events of Tears of the Mountain and The Tomb of the Tagosa Kings, and includes the first meeting between a young Lieutenant Elraes and Heric ‘Harry’ Ban.
The Tirhanites
For those who have read my works, the Tirhanites have cropped up in a number of stories, including Abhiala in Tears of the Mountain. The Tirhanites is a planned series of novellas telling of the birth of that nation, a thousand tears in the past.
He Stands Between
The first in an epic fantasy series called The Oncoming Storm, this novel is half written and completely separate from my other works. Featuring wild halfmen barbarians, knights, princesses, magic, epic battles, heroism, last stands, magic swords and all the rest that goes to make a good epic fantasy.
Hi there,
I sort of stumbled across your site and read this…and had to comment, sorry.
I am just so very glad to hear I’m not the only would-be writer who has a serious story-attention-deficit-disorder. I think I have about 30 or so stories (all neatly filed away in their own cabinet, not that that’s very useful), all of them abandoned in favour of some bright and shiny new idea. I think it’s the author’s version of the old cow-new cow phenomenon…
Anyway, I wish you writer’s stamina for the current project (I’m kind of hoping to find some myself…)
Tess.
Good luck with it – I have succumbed (again) since this page was done, so once more it will need updating. Actually, I think I succumbed more than once. Its terrible really – nothing will be finished at this rate.
