Seeing as how the rough drafts of the stories for Volume Three of Pure Escapism are coming along so nicely, I thought I’d just do a quick preview of what is coming out in it, which included the return of a few old friends.
The story previously called The Village, which had been slated for volume two but got put back due to not being happy with it will make its appearance in volume three. It has been renamed and now is called Future Portents. It revolves around a young boy called Muric, from a primitive village just emerging from the stone age and the journey he makes to the Aracan town of Matlocan and the amazing things he sees there.
Cara’s Choice Part Two continues the Urban Fantasy story started in volume two, and in it Cara meets the mysterious Edward Cavanaugh and also finds out not only more of what is going on, but also is presented with her first Choice.
Cahuac is back, in another mythological tale, in the same style as Cahuac and the Sun. In this one, Bowl of Storms, the waters have ceased and drought afflicts the land. Cahuac, accompanied by the humble Zephyr Mouse, seeks out the spirit who may now the reasons and how to fix, He-Who-Paints-The-Sky, who is responsible for dawns and dusks, for rainbows and auroras.
Lastly, in a yet to be named story, Nhaqosa the Minotaur who features in The Pit in the first volume has returned. He and the small band of escaped gladiators that accompany him, are wandering the lands, following a call that Nhaqosa feels will lead him home. It is a harsh land though, full of many dangers, and the band makes their way through it as mercenaries and sell-swords, and in this tale they fall in with a merchant who needs their aid.
